AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Uncovered
According to the official statement, "A strange encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome transformations resonate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine cult.
The mission concentrates on "strange experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Extra Features
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an special katana together with several items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
Previous Anime Partnerships
This signifies scarcely the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime franchises. The series earlier showcased a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla informally contained a quest that unmistakably referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
